Tournament Note

WELCOME TO THE OSA TURKEY TOURNEY, sponsored by Pella Windows & Doors!

SCHEDULES ARE FINAL! At this point, if a team drops, I will do my best to find exhibition games for those teams that will be left with fewer than 3 games, and I will notify coaches directly at that time. Please be sure your parents know to DOUBLE CHECK schedules. Please also share the following information with them to ensure a smooth weekend for all!

Teams will not be allowed to enter our facilities before that time. ONLY HEAD COACHES MAY BRING BASKETBALLS INTO THE OSA FACILITIES. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK MAY BE BROUGHT INTO ANY OSA FACILITY.

PLAYER, COACH AND SPECTATOR DECORUM – All participants entering OSA facilities are expected to always show good sportsmanship. OSA HAS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY and has the right to remove any participant who does not comply with OSA policies and procedures or who is seen as a threat to the safety and integrity of our league. Anyone ejected from a game (player, coach, spectator) will be required to leave the facility and may not enter ANY OSA game facility for the remainder of the day, even for another team. If this happens in the team’s last game of the day, the ejected party will be required to sit for the next game the following day.

• Coaches: Only the head coach is allowed to address the official. The assistant coach may not address the officials. If a coach or assistant coach receives a technical foul, the seat belt rule will apply and both coaches will need to sit for the remainder of the game. We set aside officials’ areas on the corners of each court. This area is for officials and officials only. Coaches may not address the officials while they are in these areas before games, at halftime or after games.

• Spectator Decorum: Fans who cross the line and verbally abuse or berate the officials or OSA Staff will be removed from OSA and OSA facilities immediately. Repeat offenders will be banned permanently from OSA. Spectators do not have the right to admonish or berate officials or OSA Staff, and those who do not comply will be removed.

Lastly - I am reaching out to all of our tournament families to let you know of an opportunity to help out a family in our basketball community who took in two very young foster children in an emergency situation in May. The children are doing well and are adjusting, but things are still very tight for the foster family, especially with the cost of groceries, diapers, etc going up. To add to this, they have taken in a 13 year old girl as well, and their family has grown!

With the holidays around the corner, OSA is organizing a short "supplies drive" for them this Thanksgiving Weekend. They are in need of the items listed below, and as you can imagine, every little bit helps.

Baby Wipes

Diapers - size 4

Boys Underwear - size medium (8)

Boys warm clothing - size 8

Girls warm clothing - size 2T

They could also use some groceries for the family and would LOVE some Walmart gift cards. If you are anything like me and finding yourself really busy this time of year, they also have a VENMO account for direct contributions. If you email me directly, I will send you Mom's QR code.

We will have boxes for donation items located outside of our gym this Saturday and Sunday during the Turkey Tourney. I do ask that if you are planning on dropping off any type of gift card that you drop it in the OSA Registration box just to the right as you enter the gym. This is a locked compartment, and your donation will be safe there.

Thank you so much for your consideration!

Have a great weekend of competition, and for those of you coming from a distance, safe travels!
