Updated Spectator Policy 2/4/2021:
SPECTATORS:
1. To minimize crowd size and to adhere to social distancing guidelines, attendance will be limited to TWO PEOPLE per athlete.
If siblings attend, they will be not counted towards the 2.
2. Spectators/Athletes/Coaches are not allowed to enter the facilities until 10-15 minutes prior to their scheduled game. Spectators MUST enter the
gym with their athlete. NO SPECTATORS WILL BE ALLOWED ENTRY INTO THE GYM WITHOUT THEIR ATHLETE. Masks must be worn at all times.
3. Staging Areas: Spectators/players/coaches will not be allowed into the gym until the conclusion of the previous game and all participants have left the
area. Staff will notify teams when they may take the floor. Spectators will socially distance upstairs lobby area, upstairs hallway, or outside, weather
permitting. Masks must be worn at all times in staging area.
Strict Covid-19 Policies- See attached. Everyone must wear a mask when entering the facility. Guidelines can also be found under the document tabs on tourney machine.

Overview of Structure
GAME: The game will be played 4 vs. 4 on a full court. Players should be rotated equally.
Teams will be given color wrist bands to help with man-to-man defense.
BASKETBALL SIZE: 27.5 (Junior) Size Basketball
GOAL HEIGHT: 8 feet
GAME CLOCK: Games will be divided into four 8-minute quarters. Substitutions will only be allowed at the four minute mark of each period. The clock will run continuously except on injuries, substitutions and at the official's discretion. Halftime length: 2 minutes.
League Rules
DEFENSE: Teams may only play man-to-man defense. No Double Teaming.
No full court press: Once the defensive team has gained "clear possession" of the ball, the offensive team must fall back behind half court.
VIOLATIONS: Violations enforced at official's discretion at each level of competition. The team continues to have possession of the ball after a violation or personal foul. Officials will use the opportunity to teach the youth. Lane violations will not be enforced. Offensive violations and will be taken out of bounds on the sidelines.
TRAVELING & DOUBLE DRIBBLE: Violations called at the official's discretion but will retain possession.
SHOTS: FREE THROWS / FOUL SHOTS: No foul shots during the game. Each player will shoot a Free Throw at the end of the 1st and 3rd period which will be counted towards the score. THREE POINT SHOTS: Scored as three (3) points. Free Throw distance is 8 feet for 1st and 2nd grade players, 6 feet for Kindergarten players.
STEALS & POSSESSION VIOLATIONS: Steals permissible on passes only. Stealing off the dribble or while the ball is in clear possession of a player is NOT permitted. This includes bumping which may result in the loss of ball control/possession. Defensive players may "tie-up" the ball inside the lane after the offensive player has stopped dribbling, resulting in a jump ball, and an alternating possession.
FOULS: Fouls will not be recorded. If an offensive player is fouled during a shot attempt they will be awarded one point and another possession, unless the shot is made. If the shot is made, the offensive player will be awarded the basket plus one point. It will then be the Defenses' possession.
TIME-OUTS: Each team will have 1 time-out per half. None will carry over from the first half to the second.
OVERTIME: There will be one overtime period of 2 minutes, if needed. If the score is still tied after one overtime, the game will end in a tie. There are no timeouts during overtime
The official's book will have the final say on the score.
No more than two coaches are allowed on the bench.
Wristbands must be worn by all players, unless agreed upon by both coaches.
Arrive early for your game and be prepared to take the court when the previous game is completed.
Sportsmanship
We ask that you consistently display good sportsmanship! Please understand that we are striving to provide a positive competitive environment for growth and development in the game of basketball and in life. Coaches and officials will do their best to help all kids learn, play competitively, and of course, have fun. We ask that spectators focus on the development of their own team and players. The JCC, its staff, and officials, reserve the right to eject those who exhibit inappropriate behavior. Any ejection results in suspension for a minimum of 1 weekend. Please enjoy the environment, the game of basketball, and most importantly, the kids!
FALL YOUTH SPORTS RETURN TO PLAY GUIDELINES-
To ensure participant health and safety, and enjoyment of our facilities and programs, we will continue to review and update these guidelines regularly to remain in line with federal, state and local guidelines. Updates to guidelines during the season will promptly be communicated.
No one should attend practice or games if not feeling well, has a fever (100.3), currently under quarantine, waiting on Covid-19 test result, or has been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days. Personal health and safety are the responsibility of all players, volunteers, and coaches.
All players, 5 years and older, will need to wear masks when not actively playing (when sitting on sidelines, walking to get a drink, when walking through the gym, etc.)
All coaches will need to wear a mask while coaching and walking through the building.
Players and coaches must use hand-sanitizer before entering the facility. Please wash hands or use hand sanitizer, before, after and if possible, during games.
Players should bring their own water bottles and drink containers. Water fountains will not be available.
Teams are not to combine with other teams that are practicing at the same time/court.
Immediately after practice the coaches and players must put masks on and use hand sanitizer before leaving the gym.
JCC Coaches & Little Lions Coaches:
All coaches will need to wear a mask while coaching and walking through the building and adhere to the 6ft social distance guideline. Sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizing stations will be provided in the gym.
Process to Follow if a COVID Case is Confirmed on a Team:
Notify coach, coach notifies JCC Director of Athletic Programming (lbrannen@jccomaha.org)
Coach should assist in monitoring the timeline of a player quarantine (14 days)
If an infected player has come in contact with the team, the entire team will be on a 14 day quarantine (Coach should notify Director of the beginning date)
Coaches are also required to report if he/she has come in contact with a confirmed COVID case
If a positive COVID-19 test is reported to the JCC, teams impacted will be notified, while keeping the individual's identity confidential.
League and Tournament Games held at the JCC:
Games will be scheduled with additional transition time to allow time for teams to clear the area and for staff to disinfect equipment. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes early for games, as not to crowd exiting teams or interfere with cleaning.

All coaches need to wear a mask while coaching and walking through the building.
All refs need to wear masks when not actively refereeing (during timeouts, walking to get a drink, walking through the gym, etc.)
After the game, there will not be any handshakes, congratulation lines, or parent tunnels. We ask teams to participate in our Sportsmanship gesture (2 claps and shouting "GOOD GAME," to their opponent - still practicing social distancing.
Avoid having large group team meetings before or after the game. When meeting, practice social distancing.
Post-Game snacks/drinks will be suspended for the time being.
SPECTATORS: To minimize crowd size and to adhere to social distancing guidelines, each player is allotted 2 adult spectators per game (Children from the same family allowed to accompany). All spectators, 5 years and older, need to wear masks and maintain 6ft social distance. Please use the social distancing marks on bleachers. All spectators must remain at their designated court for duration of the game.
Winter Weather Policy
If we are to cancel games, we will give two hours notice to the coaches. For example, if we are going to cancel 12PM games, we will make the decision and communicate it by 10AM. The coaches will be emailed and called. You may also call the JCC membership desk at (402)334-6426 to get the most up to date information.
